Sir Patrick Stewart

Sir Patrick Stewart brings tears with an intense farewell speech over a mug of Yorkshire Tea in their latest ad

Yorkshire Tea has recruited a host of famous faces to star in its latest TV adverts. This is part of a new £7m campaign that daftly demonstrates Yorkshire Tea's unwavering passion and uncompromising dedication to 'doing things properly'.

In this latest ad, 'Patrick' (Sir Patrick Stewart, of course) brings a tear to the eyes of his Yorkshire Tea colleagues as he delivers an intense farewell speech to their beloved Tina, with a mug of the 'proper' stuff in hand.

This was a fantastic spot for such a well-loved actor, who ends the beautifully captivating monologue by announcing that there will be leaving drinks at the Dog and Trumpet and that, there's a tab behind the bar.

It's very funny (which is very hard to do well in an ad), sticks to the key message (Yorkshire tea being a 'proper brew') and shows the proud heart of the brand.

Oh, and I love that they consistently cast their actual employees to be in these ads, too. Give it a watch and try not to smile.
