The brief
Having cemented a bold, consistent creative style that formed their in-house video motion kit, Venture has been Box’s customer success story supplier of choice for 8 years. In April 2021, we started creating explainer videos for their global team, and have continued to receive even more exciting briefs from their team since then.
For this latest project, they came to us to launch a brand new e-signature tool for their growing selection of cloud-based products.
Box Sign gives users seamless and fully digitised e-signature workflows to use both within and beyond their organisation, which speeds up their critical business processes while keeping everything secure and compliant.
What they needed was a video that would explain why their customers and prospects need Box Sign and convince them that it will help their organisation do business faster, save money, and delight users.
The challenge
From a technology standpoint, Box Sign breaks the mould by having natively integrated e-signatures. And from a business model perspective, there isn’t a limit on the number of native signatures you can use.
We knew Box Sign would be competing with the likes of Dropbox, Docusign, and Adobe Sign in name, but we needed to show how its functionality is disrupting the e-sign market. This video had to conceptually stand out from the crowd and cut through the noise.
The Creative
The tone of the video needed to reflect the Box brand; clear and actionable, friendly and approachable, and confident yet accessible.
To elevate the content, it was decided that the creative would lead heavily towards energetic, well-paced brand illustration and 2D and 3D product animation.
To achieve this, our team suggested that the video follows a stylus as it fluidly moves across different UI software interfaces and devices. To add an extra dose of energy, we also used a custom sound design as the stylus seamlessly glides from one screen to another.

The results
Venture’s video helped Box to raise awareness of Box Sign in a brand-consistent, exciting way.
Once launched, the video quickly yielded results. Within the first month, the full-length video had 38,000 organic views, and with social ads, shorter 15-minute clips accumulated a further 2.1 Million views in just one week.
On top of this, despite the video being skippable, 97% viewed 25% of the ad, 72% viewed 50% of the ad, and 60% viewed 75% of the ad.
Having raised the bar of all their content and been consistent with their brand, Venture continues to regularly produce more high production content for Box. Now, we’re not just a vendor for Box, we’re a trusted partner.
